With regulations around self-isolating loosening in China, Chen and her team were able to strategize a way to present her fall 2020 collection virtually on five different platforms: Labelhood’s Tmall store, her own Taobao store, Instagram, Weibo, and Douyin. “It was challenging to make this work in such a short time to meet the Digital Shanghai Fashion Week deadline, but as I love working with new technologies, my team and I were up for the challenge,” she says. The final product of Chen and her team’s work is a six-minute video that shows her Akira-inspired collection in a variety of digital environments. “Casting was extremely difficult as models were either not in Shanghai or locked in. We eventually found four models—three girls and one guy—who were able to work with us. Even then we had to work around location limitations within the city, entry authorizations, health department checkpoints…. Everyone had to wear masks and had to prove to be in good health condition,” she explains. “We had planned to work with a stylist but could not with the above limitations, so I had to style the collection myself. The models were able to go into the studio, but I was personably still in quarantine so I directed via video calls. It was challenging and time consuming.”

She could remember those last days with Matthew, her stalking around the upstairs apartment as he wept into a pillow. Suddenly the buttery yellow paint color that had been chosen for its sense of calm seemed much more “institution for the criminally insane” as she barked his shortcomings at him: “You think you’re smarter than fucking everyone else! You’ve forgotten what it means to be kind! You don’t have a GODDAMNED SOUL!” She wanted to apologize to Hugo and she wanted to do it now. She didn’t even care if she seemed crazy, texting twice in a row, changing her mind radically in an expanse of 72 seconds. But she was walking with Dan now on the shady path to the Hollywood Reservoir and he was holding her waist like it belonged to him, and Ally really was a sucker for attention. It had a palliative effect on her, softening her edges and giving her the sense that she was currently standing on the only spot on earth worth being at.

Because Chen had already started working on her collection in November, she had a leg up creatively. Even with just 11 days until her virtual fashion show during Shanghai’s all-digital Fashion Week, presented in collaboration with Tmall, she had a lot of samples and themes already cemented. “We had started working on it back in November, before the crisis hit. The concept was established, and I worked first on the graphics, then moved on to the design and fabric choices. We worked closely with Bonotto in Italy to develop an exclusive fabric. Until then it was all smooth, and 60% to 70% of the collection was ready before Chinese New Year,” she explains. “Then the crisis hit and things started to get complicated. Factories began closing down, then we were not allowed to go to the office. I secretly sent fabrics to my home where I was able to hand-drape and sew on my own.”

How does heritage come in? Through my line, I get to explore my rich heritage as a Yoruba (an ethnic group in Western Nigeria) person. I want to contribute to centuries-old conversations on African design. My ancestors left so much behind. I believe they expected us to continue telling these stories and building up on what they left. I am a huge admirer of the I see your true colors that’s why I love you shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this works of Demas Nwoko and Yusuf Grillo, two amazing artists that were part of the Zaria Art Rebels in the ’70s, a group of Nigerian artists whose works aimed to develop aesthetics, styles, and techniques relevant to a new African society. I am particularly inspired by the architecture of Demas Nwoko and I have been on research trips to study his designs across Nigeria.

What techniques do you use? (I think some are very traditional?) Yes, especially adire, a very old form of storytelling through fabric via a series of resist dye techniques. I was intrigued by the I see your true colors that’s why I love you shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this idea behind this process, wearing stories on one’s body. I wanted to explore adire in a contemporary way, so I developed my own process I call Post-Adire, an opportunity for me to push adire dyeing techniques into new contexts like knitwear and creating motifs that are important to me.

“I think feeling like a kid is the most important thing that we can hope for,” Timmy said. “It’s why I dress like a sophisticated nine-year-old. I never want to stop.” “I love that kids have instincts.” Ally was fully turned to Timmy now, her left knee tucked up under her butt, gesticulating wildly as she was wont to do when she was making a point that felt undeniable. “Like, when you’re a kid you know what you want. You say no when you need to. How have I grown into my almost mid-30s and I have less of a sense of my own desires than I did as a seven-year-old?” “Do you feel like you say yes when you mean no?” Timmy asked, pulling their jacket off and rotating their narrow but strong shoulders.

“You’re right, I’m sorry,” Ally smiled. “I love this. I love that you’re feeling good enough to have a crush.” And she meant it. Ally meant it with every bone in her body. So how, then, had Timmy ended up sitting on the edge of her bed? She knew, technically, it was because she had offered to show them her first-edition Dr. Seuss book, the one she’d found at the street fair in London and that her ex had bought for her, even thought it cost almost 300 pounds. Now the paper was crisp and yellowing, but she still looked at it almost every night, running her fingers over the fuzzy people and ocean waves and tiny foods. “Shit,” Timmy nodded, looking at the book. “This is magical.” “It makes me feel simultaneously two and one hundred,” Ally said. “Like I’ve seen everything and know nothing. Or something.” They laughed.

It went on like this for a good long while until the questions shifted. Do you like how I look at you? I do. Yes. Can you tell that I want you? Yeah? Yes. Will you let me kiss you? Um…yes. Can I kiss you harder? Y-yes. If I lay beside you, will you hold me? Yes. If I leave before dawn, can I stay right beside you? Yes.  Reader: Should Ally honor Caz and tell Timmy they can never kiss again? Or does she tell Caz what happened and say she liked it? Rumors have flown for months—nay, years—about the Skeleton jazzy spine club shirt and I will buy this possibility of beloved NBC sitcom Friends reuniting for a reboot, but all parties involved were adamant it would never happen. That is, until November when reports surfaced that a reunion in some form was “very much up for discussion.” In January, the news became official, with star Lisa Kudrow confirming on Instagram, “It’s happening. Now, though, as the coronavirus pandemic hits the pause button on most TV and film productions, the Friends reboot has been delayed. Below, find a roundup of all the information we have so far about the reboot, as well as a projected timeline of when we can expect it to resume production.

Skeleton jazzy spine club shirt

The reboot will take the Skeleton jazzy spine club shirt and I will buy this form of an exclusive “unscripted” special on HBO Max. We know the reunion was originally planned to take place on the original Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, but there’s no information as of yet on what, exactly, unscripted means. Yes. Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc have all confirmed they’ll be reprising their original roles. Variety reports that each of the six stars will receive at least $2.5 million for appearing in the special. The special was intended to shoot in March, but production has been delayed until at least May, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Although the world looks very different than it did when the special was first announced, we can still hold out hope for the Friends reunion to arrive sometime soon

The average merch collection is usually for a musician’s most loyal fans, but as the Someday I will be an old lady with horse full of black Cats and crochet stuff shirt in other words I will buy this pandemic crisis continues, stars are finding smart ways to channel what they do best into charitable action. This morning, Rita Ora updated her millions of followers with the news that she is creating a capsule collection in support of the United Nations Foundation and World Health Organization. The #StopTheSpread T-shirts, hoodies, and baseball caps feature a germ squished by a red peace sign that recalls the general prohibition sign. The emblem is playful, while also urging fans to do their part by staying home, washing their hands, and maintaining safe distances. The pieces fit right in with the work-from-home wardrobe adopted by many, but the real benefit lies in what they’re raising money for—100% of the proceeds go to the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which provides health workers with protective equipment and up-to-date, fact-based information on the pandemic. It also helps to fund the development of lifesaving treatments and research for an eventual vaccine.

Someday I will be an old lady with horse full of black Cats and crochet stuff shirt

For Ora, who spoke about the Someday I will be an old lady with horse full of black Cats and crochet stuff shirt in other words I will buy this project on yesterday’s episode of Bright Minded: Live with Miley, Miley Cyrus’s self-quarantine web talk show, the collection is a way of using her platform to enact positive change. The concept developed after a conversation with Live Aid organizer Sir Bob Geldof. “Bob was beyond gracious as, of course, he has been the master of mobilizing young people all his life,” shared Ora on her Instagram. “The first idea was to design a symbol to remind us all that we have a battle to fight together. After working on this symbol, I sent it to the United Nations Foundation, who helped set up the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization. I started discussing with them how we could work together to encourage people to unite to combat as much as we can the spread of this virus. There are simple things we can all do to make a difference. While the merch should entice fashion fans, Ora was mindful to point out that the project is about raising awareness, not pushing product. “I wanted you to know that if that is not possible for you, even sharing or posting the symbol will help,” she told fans. Launched with an instruction page featuring guidance on disease prevention and charitable donations, it underscores the importance of everyone pitching in to do their part.

This time of confinement has given us all time to think and reevaluate our practice. Designers will have to consider a different approach to collections, which will have to express a clear direction and a strong creative point of view while keeping a sense of pragmatism, with a focus on the value-for-money quality. Fashion will have to be more real, with more substance, more adaptable to such dramatically changed circumstances we’ll all experience in the near future. I don’t believe that fashion will be permeated by an escapist mode. I also think that clothes have to be fairly priced—collections’ pricing has become insane. I don’t think that people will be willing to spend astronomical amounts of money for a pair of shoes or a bag; priorities will shift, consumption will hopefully be more ethical. Of course, the need to dream will still be there, but thankfully we won’t see ’80s and ’90s revivals anymore, collections empty of real substance and just made for Instagram or to be marketed by influencers. Collections will have to be smaller and focused. We need fresh new ideas fit for modern times, an attitude of creative honesty and responsibility, not a constant rehash of old, trite, ridiculous trends.

That melanin tho I love my melanin black owned business shirt

As for September—as of now, I don’t think we’ll have real shows, but who knows. The situation still changes day by day. In September many countries still won’t be able to travel. Maybe here in Italy we’ll have an advantage in that we’ve started the lockdown much earlier than most countries, so we’ll probably restart faster. And our factories, once reopened, are pretty miraculous. I think that maybe we will have to integrate the digital with the physical, but I hope we’ll be able to stage actual shows in a different format—maybe on a reduced scale, with only very qualified press attending and the most important buyers, a maximum of a hundred people. Like going back to the old times, when fashion shows were intimate affairs and not today’s gigantic performances, without the need of impressive backgrounds or sets, where you could actually see the clothes up close. It could be a way of doing fashion the way we were doing it in a healthier way—in small ateliers, without hordes of influencers, celebrities, starlets of all kinds—giving back fashion its true value, its true essence. Maybe using local resources, considering all the traveling restrictions. It could be a way of giving opportunities to new talents, younger and fresher, maybe scouting for local models, makeup artists and hairdressers—like it was at the beginning of the Italian fashion system in the ’50s at Florence’s Sala Bianca. I’m not a nostalgic, but we definitely need a change of pace.

That melanin tho I love my melanin black owned business Unisex Hoodie

Our lifestyle has changed rather drastically in these past months in ways that will probably influence our consumption mode in the future. We’ll probably need different things, to spend more time indoors or at home, so collections will have to be balanced accordingly. We’ll want to be well-dressed indoors, but comfortably, with lightweight fabrics, easy shapes, soft and cozy but still elegant, while keeping practicality paramount. And outerwear will probably be even more protective—hoods, hats, scarves, gloves, shields will have to be considered stylistically in a different way. That said, I think that tailoring and a desire for elegance will stay, yet it’ll have to evolve. It’ll be more modern and open to new interpretations, with a different, easier and more creative way of matching jackets and pants, for example. It’ll be fresh, innovative, without any stiffness. It’ll convey the renewed zest for life that we will hopefully be able to experience again soon.

Fuzetee – Unicorn reading because murder Is wrong shirt

On Thursday, Governor Gavin Newsom ordered all 40 million residents of California to stay at home as much as possible in an effort to fight the Unicorn reading because murder Is wrong shirt and I will buy this spread of the new coronavirus. This announcement comes on the heels of a similar shelter-in-place order issued for seven counties in the San Francisco Bay Area. As other cities (including New York) discuss the possibility of adapting similar measures, there’s a lot of confusion flying around about what such an order entails. Below, find a guide to understanding what a stay-at-home order like the one issued in California means for residents. The measure was implemented as a response to the projection that as many as 56% of Californians could be infected with COVID-19 over the next eight weeks. Yes, you can still exercise outdoors and perform essential tasks like grocery shopping and picking up medications, as long as you stay six feet apart from other people, per the Centers for Disease Control and and Prevention’s guidelines. Most retail shops and corporate offices in California are being temporarily closed, but essential services will stay open. Banks, grocery stores, laundromats, pharmacies, health care providers, child-care providers, auto repair, and transportation providers are included in the list of businesses that will remain open.

Yes, technically, but according to a tweet from a Los Angeles County sheriff’s official, the Unicorn reading because murder Is wrong shirt and I will buy this department does not plan on making arrests to enforce the order. Newsom did say that California authorities would be “more aggressively” cracking down on hate crimes against Asians, which have gone up since COVID-19 began spreading in the United States. It’s too soon to tell at this point. Governor Andrew Cuomo rejected the idea of a shelter-in-place order this week, but tweeted on Friday morning that he would “sign an executive order mandating that 100% of workforce must stay home, excluding essential services”; more than 40% of U.S. COVID-19 cases are located in New York. Barber shops, hair and nail salons, tattoo or piercing parlors, and other personal-care businesses must close.

Like so many of you, I have been adjusting to reality during the Unicorn that’s what I do I drink Coffee I hate people and I know things vintage shirt and I will buy this COVID-19 pandemic—by staying up on the news (and taking breaks from the news); joining Zoom meetings with my colleagues; brainstorming ways to help the fashion industry, which will need our support in the months to come; finding escapism in a novel, movie, or TV series; and speaking to my family and loved ones by phone or FaceTime. But above all else, I have been doing one simple thing, and I urge everyone to do the same: I have been staying at home.

Unicorn that's what I do I drink Coffee I hate people and I know things vintage shirt

There is no more important rule for all of us to follow. We must, right this moment, pledge to stay in our homes as much as we possibly can. There are, of course, health workers, emergency-response personnel, grocery store employees, and others whose essential jobs we depend on. And they must go out to perform these life-saving tasks. (One of my closest relatives is a doctor, and he is on the Unicorn that’s what I do I drink Coffee I hate people and I know things vintage shirt and I will buy this front lines of this emergency—which is absolutely where he should be and makes me so proud of him.) For the rest of us all across America, there is no debate or discussion. We must stay in our homes. That is the only way to slow the spread of the coronavirus, and to protect those who are most vulnerable to it. I was as shocked as anyone by the images of Americans on crowded beaches enjoying their spring break yesterday. Even if you are young and healthy and consider yourself invulnerable, you are not. And the Americans around you certainly are not. Leave the beaches and self-isolate. All of us must unite as a nation to ensure that we slow the spread of this terrible virus. So join me in a pledge that all of us at Vogue are making today: Stay at home. There is no more valuable action you can take. Share on social and caption with a 🌹to pledge to #StayHome too.

In the Unicorn Trombone because murder Is wrong shirt and I love this wake of the global outbreak of COVID-19, stars around the world have taken to Instagram to offer messages of support and solidarity while in self-isolation. The more impressive efforts, however, are from those getting creative with the medium to bring a little light relief during this trying times—and few have met this challenge with greater charm and initiative than Miley Cyrus. The pop star has been using the social media platform’s IGTV function to broadcast daily from her home in Los Angeles, chatting with her starry line-up of guests—Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato, and Hailey Bieber have all made appearances so far—and asking them to share their tips on how to remain calm while also helping others in the midst of this unprecedented global crisis. Yesterday’s episode began with Cyrus in conversation with Rita Ora, who recently announced she was teaming up with the United Nations Foundation and the World Health Organization to design a T-shirt that would see all proceeds go directly to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The second half of the show, meanwhile, looked at the power of fashion in a very different light. Inviting her friend Jeremy Scott to join over video link, the pair got out their hot glue and sequins for a crafting session like no other.

Unicorn Trombone because murder Is wrong shirt

Cyrus and Scott’s friendship goes back many years. While Cyrus has always been unafraid to wear Scott’s wackiest, most eye-popping looks—whether from his own label, or his collections as creative director of Moschino—their most memorable collaboration came in the Unicorn Trombone because murder Is wrong shirt and I love this form of a series of artworks and jewelry pieces she produced for the designer’s spring 2015 collection. The riotously colorful pieces were collaged together, mostly from hundreds of knick-knacks her fans had thrown on stage, that Cyrus had collected over the years—and it was this DIY spirit they channeled while getting crafty over IGTV yesterday. (You can catch their meeting of minds here, beginning around the 35:05 mark.) Sporting a sweatshirt and earrings from Moschino’s recent Budweiser collaboration (Cyrus notes that the latter were a Christmas gift from Scott), the singer brought out jars of jewels and studs she’d collected from around her home that she was planning to use to bedazzle and embellish a favorite pair of denim jeans. Scott, meanwhile, opted to take a vintage Donald Duck T-shirt and cut out the graphic to sew onto an old pair of Adidas sweatpants; for those without access to a thread and needle, he made the point that safety pins will work perfectly and can even give the piece a fun, punk-inspired twist. (Scott’s other top tip? “It doesn’t matter whether you have sewing skills or not,” he said, “but make sure you put a book inside whatever you’re sewing so that you don’t go through every layer.”)
